At Brainstormers we are looking to inspire our next generation of caregivers in neuroscience. We hope to give high school students the resources they need to pursue a fulfilling education and career in medicine.
The Brainstormers team wants to show students the same joy and wonder that we as students found in the field. An interest is the first step in a long road to success!
We are paving the way for our students to become a new generation of doctors. We are connecting them to opportunities in research, mentorship, and scholarship that can broaden their horizons.

Being part of BrainStormers isn't just being a member of a program, it's being part of a family that looks out for everyone's success. Being enrolled in BrainStormers ensures that each member will be guided along a path that will introduce them to the field of medicine, specifically in the neurosciences.
The Journey
As a member of BrainStormers you will get a hands on experience with neurosurgeons that teach you the in's and out's of what it takes to become a neurosurgeon and the work you will be doing if you choose to become committed. Shadowing, Meetings, and Mentoring are all included to truly get a picture of what it takes to become a nuerosurgeon. As a member of BrainStormers you will get hands-on experience with our Neurosurgeons and Neurologists. We want to give you a vision of your future career.

As you progress in your Brainstormers journey, we will ensure that you will have ample access to opportunities beyond the classroom! We can provide access to research and internships, as well as opportunities that can lead to strong letters of recommendation. At Brainstormers we want you to succeed. You are our future.
The Organization With A Clear Purpose
Our mission is to strengthen our community and inspire students who have systematically lacked exposure to the medical profession, to find joy and excitement in learning about the art of neuroscience and medicine.
The program focuses on exciting topics in neuroscience and neurology that present opportunities for high school students to easily interface with the field in an afternoon. Our 8-session curriculum includes topics spanning the road to residency, cranial and spine trauma, awake brain surgery, stroke treatment, seizures, and bioethics. The sessions occur once per month on a Wednesday afternoon.
We started on zoom, but now our team or residents and medical students engage with students in the classroom at least once per month during the school year.
